“Execution does not like complexity!…

“…In fact, the two best friends of execution are simplicity and transparency.”

A quote from Chris McChesney in his ‘4DX’ book.

As leaders, we succeed in strategically planning. We even succeed with getting buy-in and generating excitement from our teams, peers, leaders, and stakeholders on our vision.

When it comes to executing that plan, it can be a difficult road with normal operations, escalations, lack of motivation, missed milestones, and the like. You may begin to doubt yourself, your team, or even the vision and wonder: ‘If everyone is on-board, why is nothing happening?’

But this too can be addressed. With the time the team has away from their day job, we need to help them become laser focused on a SINGLE and SIMPLE task/goal. Be intentional by carving out some time on your calendar each week with the objective of executing the answer to ‘What small task can I do that would have the biggest impact on progressing the vision/goal?’
