“You have to decide…”

“…what your highest priorities are and have the courage— pleasantly, smilingly, unapologetically— to say no to other things. And the way you do that is by having a bigger ‘yes’ burning inside.” a quote from Stephen R Covey in the ‘4DX’ book.

As we move past the half-way point of January, I am faced with this situation. My leadership and have a WIG (wildly important goal) and we are writing down all the tasks and objectives that would support the WIG.

They are all good ideas and things we ought to do. But like many of you, there the whole time and money thing to consider. Therefore, we can’t do them all this year. But what we can do this year, we need to prioritize the whole list, so many items will have a ‘no’ next to them for this year. Even considering what of these tasks will have the biggest breakthrough impact, it will be difficult to decide which ones make it and which ones don’t.

What advice would you give to other managers as we try to wrap up the 2023 planning?
